A Late Saturday Afternoon Surprise

Late Saturday afternoon I was in my car driving. This is the sight out of my front windshield. It was a cold, snowy, icy, overcast day. I had so much to do, and so many things on my mind while doing them. In between completing the afternoon schedule and preparing for my evening plans, I stopped at my home. As I often do, I stopped first at the mailbox to pick up the mail. There in my mailbox was a beautifully wrapped bright red and green box with addressed to me. Now, I don't know about you, but when this unexpected gift appeared on a day like yesterday...it was an instant pick-me-up event. I was so excited!

When I tore off the paper I discovered this colorful, festive looking box. I opened it up, and to my great delight realized it was the "surprise holiday giveaway" that I had won early in the week from a very special blogging friend. Her name is Teresa. Her blog is "teresa@grammygirlfriend.blogspot.com/" When you visit her heartwarming, creative, colorful, and inspiring blog, you can have the privilege of visiting her second blog off of her first one...her Holiday blog. The grammy girlfriend blog contains many pictures of her adorable family and four grandsons. Her love for her family and friends just pours through the words and pictures she shares. Her Holiday blog allows you to step inside of her amazing profession...that of a Holiday decorator. She has been featured in magazines and when you scroll down through the many pictures that she shares, you will understand why. This lady is one I would LOVE to have come to my home and have her share her talents. If you have a few free minutes, I would recommend visiting both of her blogs. If you enjoy seeing how others decorate for the holidays, you will really enjoy her Holiday Blog.

Included in the box were each of these individually wrapped gifts. What a treasure! What a way to add joy to someone's life. I never met Teresa so it was uncanny her choice of gifts that was included in this box. I like Christmas Country Music, I like Mary Englebriet, I like items with glitter, I like any hot drink from the Neighbor's Company, and I am always thrilled with new ornaments for the tree. Wow! this certainly was a generous gift from a very busy lady.

Gorgeous red and gold glittering pinecone ornaments will add class and color to my Christmas tree, and I will always think of Teresa when adding them to the tree. Four unique and beautiful ornaments in one box. So, you can see just how much fun it was to receive this surprise package on a somewhat dismal, and very busy Saturday afternoon. Thank you so much Teresa for your kind generosity. It made my day!

Tonight is our church's annual Christmas program. The church is decorated with these lovely vibrant pointsettias. They make me smile just looking at them. I look forward to this special evening each year. It is a good way for me to begin this holiday season, reflecting and remembering the real reason for the season...the gift of God's Son to our world. There will be food, fellowship, decorations, the singing of the treasured Christmas carols and the reading of the Christmas story.
Thank you for the privilege of sharing these gifts with you today. Hoping that in some way...you are blessed with an unexpected gift that will add joy to your day too, or better yet...you will have the blessing of surprising someone with an unexpected gift this Christmas.
Thanks again Teresa!

Beautiful, thoughtful gifts for a beautiful thoughtful person Judy. What a treat and a treasure that Teresa has been in her generosity and love as well.

Only the LORD can link hearts to guide one in what will bless another even when we don't know each other.

He's amazing!

Thanks for sharing all the photos and enjoy your Church Christmas celebration tonight. Sounds beautiful!

Love and hugs.

that weather is unbelievable to me, Judy! so different than the four winters we were in Lancaster!
We don't even have snow or ice in Poland yet???????????? We had the first snowfall mid October--it lasted about two days and it's been warm and sunny and not a flake of snow since! I'm so glad!!!! I'm sure we will get our fill when we get to Wisconsin/Minnesota for Christmas! YIKES! You can always count on snow and sub sub zero temps in the good ol' Twin Cities! That is one thing I am not looking forward to! Being with family tho' I'm certain will 'melt' all that away!

What a wonderful, colorful surprise. Thanks for sharing with us. We have had a little spatting of snow, but expect to get it any time. States even south of us have gotten snow as you know. I was blessed today with a great day to enjoy the sunshine and paint some Christmas cards to go out.

Hi Judy

Teresa's give away was very thoughtful and generous! You are indeed fortunate to have won and now you will remember her every year when you hang those pretty ornaments on your Christmas tree!
I will look at her blog as soon as I am able. I am away in snowy Colorado this week in order to attend my grandson's first birthday! :-)

Boy do you make things look easy. I've got two more of your posts to read, and I just know I'll wrap up with a sigh, and a breath of thanksgiving that God has gifted someone - in this case YOU - with such an eye.

You're amazing.
