Pearls...
"They are found in an unclean place.
They are found in a dark place.
They are found by men who knew where to look.
They are produced by major irritation.
The process takes years.
It is the only living stone.
Every pearl is one of a kind.
Imitation pearls are of no real value."
~facts shared by Glenna Salsbury, speaking at our church retreat.
This can be some encouraging news for the times in our lives when we face irritations, times of darker days, or when things we hope for don't seem to be happening. Real pearls take a long time to produce, but the finished product will be beautiful and one of a kind.

Beautiful post! I am never without my pearls around my neck. A constant reminder of a beautiful finish when this life is over. Thank you for this post.
So encouraging Judy! Thank you for sharing with us. Reminds me that God's hands are upon my life molding me into the finish work He desires.
Love and blessings.
A beautiful and inspiring post! I will now look at my pearls thru different eyes...
Such wisdom. We know these things, but sometimes we don't KNOW them at all. Thank you for drawing our hearts towards the process instead of the problem - whatever that may be.
No wonder we'll give all for the pearl of great price!
Blessings,
Kathleen
i do love the story of the pearl. i have a necklace that lisa leonard made...it says "beauty from ashes" and it has a small pearl hanging from it. i thought it was symbolic of what God was doing in my life.
the irritation is more than worth it!!
So true! Hang in there through the tough times...something beautiful is happening.
Beth Moore says you have to wait for the blessing..you never know what's coming.
What a great illustration! Amazing to ponder what beauty can come from struggles and irritations. = ) Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend!
every time at that moment of irritation, i'm not thinking "pearl," but maybe i should wear my string of pearls daily until i do??? great post!
Beautiful post. And congratulations on your box of special goodies!
Blessings,
