Our kitchen table set up to serve a simple birthday brunch for my oldest daughter. This is the table that we eat most of our meals because it is right off of our kitchen. The round pine table was made by a neighboring woodworking business, years ago.
This same table is used to play many Scrabble games also. Here we got a quick game in before my daughter left for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Oh, what stiff competition exists in these games...especially between the husband and wife on this picture. I do not pose too much of a threat to their scores. I am working on that though. Some day that will change, just wait and see.
This is the dining room table set up for a weeknight dinner for some friends. I like this table because it can expand to seat 12 people(plus 2 extra on highchairs).
This table can also be used for 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. A perfect way to pass time of vacation. They were patient with these two little ones who tried to help them.
The small old wooden table that we set in the corner of the kitchen, for the two little ones to eat at. Yes, I put a rose on their table too, so they realize that they are special too. Their little sister is still eating on the highchair, although that will change soon, if she has any say in the matter.
The same table is moved into the family room and serves as a entertainment center for these two, when painting, coloring or whatever involves a flat surface.
Sitting around any table with family and friends, is definitely listed high on my favorite ways to spend time.

I love that you added the little rose in the bud vase to the kids table. How sweet are you?
You have the perfect table solutions...whatever the purpose.
I'm thinking scrabble would be elevated to another level when playing on such a lovely tablecloth (I like it!).
I'm with you...there's nothing better then gathering around the table with friends and family. We had 13 friends around ours last night...and it was all good.
I love the memories around a table! My mom always preferred a ROUND table over a long one.....because she felt like everyone could *share* better. I agree!!
Judy, how beautiful and fun! I would love to sit at one of those tables and break bread and have laughter with you.
Love ya.
Great post, I love the table settings and also the serious faces playing Scrabble. I think I may get a game of Scrabble for this Christmas. The past few years we have played Monopoly, especially since a friend brought a New York version back for our son...we all love New York and have made many visits when our eldest daughter was living there. Tables can hold an amazing history..we have my husbands grandparents table in out kitchen. I especially like the little ones table!
It's amazing how much of life happens at our tables. I enjoyed this post. :)
Ahh, I love all the sweet ways you use tables. Very inspiring. I love the little table. So cute.
Thanks for reminding me to gather around a table with those I love.
Have a great day!
And an extra thanks for your sweet comment on my blog this week when I posted about fall and embracing change. Your words were the wow factor to me. Thanks to GOD for anything good I write. He inspires me.
Very nice table settings! We use our little kitchen set the most as it is only the two of us here most of the time.
I like the idea of a small table just for the grandchildren. I'm going to be looking for one for my grandson to use when he visits!

I love sitting around your table....especially when it means we are eating one of your delicious meals (or playing scrabble). This post is very special to me because it brings back so many memories! love you!
If our tables could talk they would have a lot to tell about us, wouldn't they? Once in a while I think I would like to get a new table in my kitchen, but when I think about all of the family meals, homework, games, cups of coffee that have taken place there, I decided I don't want to part with it.
Your table looks very pretty and so nice to be able to seat 12 people. I just know that many people have enjoyed your gracious hospitality at your table. I love the little rose on the children's table too.
Such a family post! Meals, games, memories... wonderful!
I love that too. We have a large family and I have a neat table that has leaf that hang down and four chairs fit inside the center. It is used as a sofa table and pulled out for a dining table. Big families have to do a lot of moving around to get everyone in. We love schootching up close together.

You're amazing - hands down! You always come up with the cutest posts! I love the rose on the kiddie table - great idea! Have you done any tea parties yet? I even have my son enjoying them!
All the uses for your tables are just wonderful as I love board games, puzzles and eating!
And any table goes up in 'value' when you add a lovely flower!
blessings to you and yours,
marcy
What a sweet post, Judy. I cannot wait to be home again with my family for Christmas and sit around my mother's beautiful table. Q and I always stay up till 2 or 3 am with my parents playing Trivial Pursuit or Settlers of Catan (more recently)...seriously, this post totally brought tears to my eyes thinking of all the special family memories that involve "the table" I love it! I am so emotional about my family right now...I miss them so much and the next visit with them can't come soon enough!
thanks again,
your blog is always a bright spot in my day!
love,
B
Judy, your table is lovely. Just think...if it could talk! I love pieces of beloved furniture like this.
