She(the great grandmother) was making a huge pot of her wonderful chicken corn soup. The little one(the great granddaughter) was observing the process on her little stool in the corner.
Here she is being shown what was in the pot that Great Grandma was spending time making. This will go in smaller plastic containers, to be eaten this winter, or to be given as gifts. She started out this process by cooking three large Perdue oven stuffers in this big pot of water, with all her special seasonings. After cooking it until it is quite tender, she removes all the chicken from the bones, cuts it up with a kitchen shears, adds it to the broth along with sweet corn. Oh my, this is so delicious!!
We brought out the crayons and the big sheets of white freezer paper, and the two little girls and their aunt spent time coloring. Of course, their aunt would have cupcakes on her mind.
The little fellow and his grandpa played harmonicas together. First they both had their own and then he requested that they both try playing the same one. Next they moved on to playing guitar together.

Time for the little one to get her hands washed after feeding great grandma some pieces of chicken. How special for them to have this time together.

It is a very cool, overcast day and the little one's parents are in the process of getting their newly purchased home ready to move into. Yes, moving and the birth of twins in the same month. So, now you understand why it is, that we are finding things to do with these little ones, this Saturday.

Sweet, sweet pics watching grandmother cook!
What a sweet sweet post. You know what I'm going to do today...go look for some of those glass acorns. I LOVE them! You know what...I think I can smell the soup.
Aunt Judy...what a FUN, creative grandma you are! Thanks for posting those cute pics and for giving so many hours of your time to spend with those cuties. I can clearly remember all the fun memories of going to grandma's and how special she made it for me. I know those three will treasure these times and bring them up for years to come. And to think you will have two more little lives so very soon. Can;t wait! Hope you are enjoying some relaxation in there as well. Love you
Good afternoon Judy, It looks like all of you are having a fun afternoon. The soup sounds delicious! I can just imagine how wonderful your house smells. The best times are those spent with family ♥ I can't even begin to imagine how your daughter and son-in-law are accomplishing all that they have to doin one month. They are blessed to have all of you to help them. Your grandchildren are so cute. I love how your grandson likes to hang out with your hubby and your granddaughter is cooking with great grandma. How precious is that ♥
p.s. Yes, we are tailgating this weekend :>)
Judy, I have got to try the chicken corn soup. I had not thought about making it and using for gifts. Nothing says loving life something from the oven (kitchen). I love those times with the grands. Mine all all growing up now and now many opts to have time alone with them. Basketball, football, always something. One getting married, one works all the time. Just busy busy busy. Holiday time is coming up maybe I can invite them to come help with decorating.
Nice post.

Sweet family pictures of just being together. . .making soup and passing the time during fall weather.
We have lots of rain today . ..I'm making ginger crinkle cookies and the house smells wonderful.
What a beautiful post, Judy. The photos of your granddaughter watching her great grandma is just precious. This looks like a wonderful way to pass a Saturday for all concerned. I can't imagine moving and expecting twins at the same time. However, with the loving support your family shows I'm sure it will all work out fine. You are all an inspiration.
I just got home from making a huge kettle of chicken corn soup at the shop. It's a grand day for soup!
Aww. What a sweet evening. The little one is so darling!
How truly blessed your family is...I was so glad our eldest was able to meet his great-grandma, but wished she wasn't suffering Alzhemier's at that time. But, the photos I have of the 2 of them together are priceless!
Loved the pics!
Such a joy to hear about your family spending time together! What a precious gift of cooking, singing, playing instruments, baking and just caring and showing love to each other, you are giving and passing on to your grandchildren! Your post has touched my heart!
